Warburton Film Festival 2025.png

Welcome to the 2025 Warburton Film Festival. We extend a warm greeting to all, whether you are joining us for the first time or returning. This year’s event marks a special milestone as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the festival.

We have chosen seven films to feature over the weekend, with a mix of genres and countries of origin, including a classic in tribute to the late Gene Hackman. On opening night, multi-award-winning director and producer Madeleine Hetherton-Miau will join us as our special guest for the screening of her documentary Mozart’s Sister.

The best entries from our “Show Us Your Shorts” competition will be screened before feature films. In honour of our 40 year celebration, a special shorts-dedicated session on Sunday will see the announcement of prize winners followed by a retrospective selection of shorts since the SUYS inception in 2008
