August programs at the Hub

The Lilydale Youth Hub put on a wide range of activities for all young people, from animal therapy, to yoga and music jamming. There are also lots of supports young people can access, from counselling, to legal services to employment advice. Find out more here.

Help design a program

The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) are currently looking for young people aged 16-25 from refugee or migrant backgrounds to co-design and deliver their new program, Speak Up, which will be designed to promote gender equity among multicultural young people in Victoria. You will be paid for your time!

2022 YDAS Young Leaders Workshops

YDAS is running a free online leadership program for young people (14-25) who identify as having a disability, chronic illness, being blind or vision impaired, being Deaf, neurodiverse and/or having lived experience of mental health issues. Find out more here.


Monthly music showcase for young musicians

FReeZA Flying Pig Events, as part of Whitehorse City Council, is looking for young musicians to perform monthly in the local community. This is a free and supported opportunity including promotions! There are 2 spots to fill each month and each act receives a $50 voucher. You can apply here.  


YRC Pandemic and Storm Impact Survey

By completing the Yarra Ranges Council Pandemic and Storm Impact Survey, you can express your views on the ongoing impacts from the pandemic and June storm event. Information gathered through this survey will ensure that recovery funds are directed to activities and programs that support those most impacted by the pandemic and storm event. Free Media Training

The Queer Art Collective enables young queer people to co-design and co-create monthly art and social events that are of interest to them. Events are created for and with young queer identifying people aged 18-25. Find out more here.


‘How to be an ally to LGBTQIA+ teens’ webinar

This free online session will provide the skills and confidence to become an ally for all LGBTQIA+ young people. Discover why toilets and pronouns literally save lives, how simple words and actions of an ally can make a difference to teenagers. ‘Raise your Voice’ for the Lilydale Youth Hub

The Lilydale Youth Hub are raising a chorus of supportive voices across the Yarra Ranges to assist them in their advocacy to secure funding for the Hub to keep the service open beyond Dec 2022. Submit a message of support here.


Mission Australia Youth Survey

The 2022 Mission Australia Youth Survey is now open. It's the largest online youth survey in Australia and provides a platform for young people aged 15 to 19 to ‘speak up’ about the issues that really concern them. The survey closes on 12th August. Contribute your voice here.


Learning from QTPOC Voices: Supporting Positive Experiences of Mental Healthcare

Orygen is seeking young queer and trans people of colour (QTPOC) to participate in an interview and a workshop (optional) to understand their experiences accessing professional mental health care. Everyone who takes part in this research will be reimbursed for their time and participation. Find out more here.


Lived Experience Advisors

The Royal Children’s Hospital are looking for young people (over 15 years), and families, carers, and supporters in who have experience of mental health challenges and recovery. Advisors are paid $83.60 an hour for their expertise and will have access to supports to make ensure they are in a safe and supportive environment. More information and register here
