As the local government elections will be held on 26 October 2024, Yarra Ranges Council will assume a caretaker role from Tuesday 17 September 2024. During the caretaker period, there will be limited changes made to the content on Council's websites. Information will only be added to this website in accordance with caretaker requirements.
Yarra Ranges Council is committed to enhancing sport and recreation facilities for the benefit of the local community. The netball courts at Don Road Sporting Complex have reached the end of their usable life and now pose safety concerns for both players and the community. To address these issues, the courts will undergo a full reconstruction, ensuring safe and modern facilities for many years to come.
This project is dependent on a grant application, and if successful, reconstruction is expected to begin in late 2025. The Don Road Sporting Complex, managed by Council, primarily supports local sporting clubs and also serves as a vital recreational hub for the broader community. This redevelopment will support the increasing participation in netball and AFL, especially for the Healesville Football/Netball Club, which regularly trains and competes at the reserve.
