Perfect if you want to be involved in a regular program or project for between six months to one year if you want to be part of an ongoing team or play a central role in shaping longer-term projects.

Defrosted Events (FReeZA), is a program that supports young people to put on a range of events for young people from music and dance, to film, exhibitions, and gaming.

My Pride and Sage

These are two fortnightly groups for LGBTIQA+ young people in Maroondah. My Pride is for young people aged 10 to 13 years, Sage is for young people aged 14 to 18 years. Rural Rainbows Peer Group

Rural Rainbows is a fortnightly social group for young people who identify with the LGBTIQA+ community or are questioning. This is a chance to connect, have fun and chat in an inclusive, safe and supporting place.

Runs every second Wednesday, 5.00 to 7.00pm at the Lilydale Youth Hub. The next session is 27 April 2022 – you can just drop in, or for more information call EACH 5967 5800 or


Craft youth group

There is a new free group craft space for young people in Ringwood. Held every second Friday 1 to 4pm between April and June 2022, it’s a place to chill out and be creative. There are lots of supplies and activities on offer, otherwise you can also BYO project. Register your interest to join here


Just Vibing online social group

There is an online social group for young people to engage in fun activities within a safe and inclusive space. Held every second Thursday in May and June, 4.30 to 6.30pm. Lived Experience Advisors

The Royal Children’s Hospital are looking for young people (over 15 years), and families, carers, and supporters in who have experience of mental health challenges and recovery. Advisors are paid $83.60 an hour for their expertise and will have access to supports to make ensure they are in a safe and supportive environment.

Help design a program

The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) are currently looking for young people aged 16-25 from refugee or migrant backgrounds to co-design and deliver their new program, Speak Up, which will be designed to promote gender equity among multicultural young people in Victoria. You will be paid for your time! Find more information and applications here.


Trek Learning Centre

The 5 Acre Project at Trek provides opportunities for young people who have become disengaged a circuit-breaker where they can work, learn and succeed in a non-judgmental, therapeutic farm environment. Young people use permaculture and organic farming principles to grow beautiful and nourishing food and plants, cook food for all those on site each day, develop practical skills. Queer Art Collective @ Burrinja

The Queer Art Collective enables young queer people to co-design and co-create monthly art and social events that are of interest to them. Events are created for and with young queer identifying people aged 18-25. Find out more here.
