Community Garden Volunteering

Some community gardens across the Yarra Ranges operate on a volunteer basis where anyone is welcome to come along and help maintain the garden beds, and plant and care for fruit and vegetable produce. The food is free for community to pick as needed.

Helping out a community garden has many benefits including:

  • making new connections
  • learning new skills
  • access to fresh healthy food
  • exercise
  • being in the outdoors
  • improved mental health.
