Local preschools offer group sessions for 3 and 4 year olds. Programs encourage children to learn through play while building self esteem, confidence and relationships with others.

Preschool eligibility

Three year old programs are offered at most preschools.

To be eligible for 4 year old preschool, your child must turn 4 before 30 April in the year of attendance.

Enrol for preschool

To enrol your child for preschool, contact your chosen preschool or early years service directly. Enrolments are normally taken from 2 years of age.

Preschool costs

The cost of sending your child to preschool varies between preschools. For accurate cost information, we recommend contacting your chosen preschool directly for fee details.

State government funding is available for 4 year old preschoolers attending a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Do you need help paying preschool fees? You may be eligible for government rebate or subsidies.

Early start kinder

Early Start Kindergarten provides up to 15 hours of free or low cost kindergarten to eligible three-year-old children, where programs are offered by a qualified teacher.
