Salvia is the largest genus of plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae, with nearly 1000 species of shrubs, herbaceous perennials, and annuals. They are suited to full sun or semi-shade, and some tolerate cold temperatures and frost and come in a range of appealing colours, including blue, mauve, cerise, pink, red, white and orange. Salvias are also generally easy to cultivate, growing quickly, with varieties flowering throughout the year. Lyndi, a Landscape Designer, and Co Ordinator of the Victorian Salvia Study Group, is passionate about Salvias, and by the end of the talk, you will be too! Bring your Salvia cuttings for identification.
