Meander is a group of passionate people who care for the Menzies Creek and Emerald Tourist Track. We reduce local weeds, replant indigenous vegetation and provide information, education or research about the natural environment for the community in the region in and around Emerald.
We're currently focused on restoring bridges and boardwalks, clearing track including restored Telopea steps, bridges and boardwalks. Our regular work includes weeding, planting and ongoing liaison and advocacy with Department Environment Energy and Climate Action, Parks Victoria, Cardinia Council, Yarra Ranges Council and local MPs. Meander is currently a sub-group of Johns Hill Landcare Group, and working in collaboration with Emerald Lions Club under their insurance as lead agency for track restoration funding.
