You are invited to take part in the research project, 'Examining the housing-transport nexus in families with young children.' This research aims to investigate how families with young children experience their local housing and transport environments across Melbourne, Victoria.

We want to interview parents/primary caregivers across the Greater Melbourne region to understand the decisions made around housing and transport choices in families with young children and how these decisions affect daily travel and activities. We are interested in learning of any potential trade-offs that might be made for either housing or transport so we can better understand the potential needs of families with young children. This research will help to inform planning and policies relating to housing, transport and planning.

It is anticipated that the interview will take between 45-60 minutes, and they can be completed online.

Before participating in an interview, we will need to assess your eligibility for the study. This short screening survey of three questions should take less than 2 minutes to complete and will not collect any identifiable information. If you are eligible to participate in this study and still wish to participate, we will ask for you to provide your email address so the research team can contact you to send you further information about the study.

This research project is being conducted by PhD candidate Rebecca Weiner, who will use the findings of this research to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy. Rebecca is being supervised by Prof Hannah Badland (Principal Investigator), Dr. Annette Kroen (Co-investigator) and Dr. Karen Villanueva (Co-investigator), all RMIT University staff.
