If you are a resident in Yarra Ranges you can apply for a permit to park for free in Warburton.
A paid parking pilot started on 3 May 2025 and will run until August-September 2026. Following this, the next steps for paid parking will be finalised.

You will need to provide supporting information that you live at a Yarra Ranges address and that your vehicle is linked to your address or name. Permits are not linked to a person - they are linked to a vehicle registration number and address. You can apply for up to 3 permits online. If you need more, please contact us on 1300 456 050.

If the vehicle is owned by a company, you will be required to provide documents proving lawful use of the vehicle.
It will take up to 7 days for the team to manually review attached documents and approve. Your permit will be pending during this time. Residents can park for free until it is fully approved.

You will need to provide your address and registration number and the following documents.
The team will print a letter confirming your permit.
Resident permits are electronic - you do not need a sticker or sign for your vehicles.
Your license plate will be recorded in the system, so if you park in a paid space on weekends or public holidays, our enforcement team will be notified, and you won’t receive a fine unless you have overstayed the allocated time. Permits are valid until the end of the pilot evaluation period on 30 September 2026. Depending on the outcome of the pilot, you will be able to renew your permit.
There are still plenty of free, and untimed parking spots in Warburton. Some of these parking spots will be further away from high-traffic areas.
