Kindergarten Engagement Program

The Kindergarten Engagement Program works directly with families from multilingual backgrounds, including newly arrived families, to assist children to enrol and participate in kindergarten (also known as preschool and Pre-Prep).

We can help you:

Understand 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten, including support with registration and enrolment
Identify eligibility for Early Start Kindergarten (ESK) and help with the process
Work together with kindergarten staff to support kindergarten inclusion and attendance
Connect with local early years services such as Maternal and Child Health, playgroups, immunisation and story times
Understand the processes to enrol in and transition to primary school.

Interpreters and support is available.

Investing in the Upper Yarra Family Centre

The Upper Yarra Family Centre will be undergoing essential roof replacement works to maintain the building’s safety and structural integrity.

To make sure services can continue with minimal disruption, all programs and activities will be temporarily relocated to nearby Yarra Junction Council buildings from 7 April 2026.
