Yarra Ranges Council is delivering drainage improvement works along Belle Vue, Lilydale, in response to longstanding concerns from residents about flooding during regular storm events.
Investigations identified that the existing table drains do not have sufficient capacity to effectively collect and convey stormwater during periods of heavy rainfall. These upgrades form part of Council's ongoing commitment to improving community infrastructure and building greater resilience to severe weather events.
Council has appointed a contractor to deliver the project and works are scheduled to commence in mid January 2027.
