Municipal Emergency Management Plan
The Municipal Emergency Management Plan outlines how emergency and support services, council, and the community work together before, during and after an emergency in Yarra Ranges.
The objectives of the MEMP are to:
- Apply an "all communities, all emergencies" approach to emergency management.
- Identify possible emergency hazards and assess the risks they may pose to the municipality.
- Support local and regional organisations to work together before, during and after emergencies.
- Develop programs that help people prepare for emergencies, reduce their risk, and build community resilience and self-reliance.
- Help communities recover after an emergency has occurred.
- Manage how municipal resources are requested and used during emergencies, and arrange extra support when local resources are no longer enough.
- Work alongside local, regional and state emergency management plans without repeating them, and connect to these plans to improve coordination and cooperation.
