You’re invited! Join us for the St Brigid’s Parish Care Group Children’s Movie Matinee fundraiser in support of our Christmas Hamper Drive. The event will be held on Sunday 11 October, from 1 pm to 4 pm. After the movie, we invite you to stay for afternoon tea ($5 each), games and our major raffle draw. Please bring gold coins or cash so you can take part in the fun.

Why your support matters

In 2025, our volunteers prepared and delivered 120 hampers and care parcels, provided 200 gifts for children, and distributed 60 gifts to aged care residents. Your attendance helps us continue this important work and support families and individuals in need. We are grateful to be part of such a compassionate community, and we sincerely acknowledge the generous local businesses that have donated vouchers and products for our raffle.

How the Care Group helps

Since the 1990s, volunteers from the St Brigid’s Parish Care Group have supported the local community through practical care and assistance throughout the year, including:

Crisis support and advocacy
Preparation and delivery of meals
Sponsorship for children attending local schools
Financial assistance via bill payments, as well as the distribution of food, medicine, or fuel vouchers
Outreach to vulnerable, ill, or disabled individuals, including residents at Holmwood and Estia Health
Christmas support, including hampers, gifts, meals and vouchers for families and individuals

Funded by community generosity

Our Care Group is entirely self-funded and relies on fundraising activities, local businesses and the generosity of community members. With your support, and the dedication of our volunteers, we can continue making a meaningful difference for families throughout the year, especially during the Christmas season.
