Upper Yarra Partnership

Upper Yarra Partnership Welcome

The Upper Yarra Partnership is a collaboration between:

  • service providers

  • education providers

  • community organisations

  • local and state government agencies.

We work with families and community to improve wellbeing for children aged 0 – 14 years in the Upper Yarra. Our shared vision is to see children in the Upper Yarra with strengthened social and emotional skills. We want to make them resilient with strong relationships and engaged in learning.

Our projects

The Upper Yarra Partnership works together to deliver shared projects. We have a current focus on improving the social and emotional wellbeing of children aged 0 – 6 years.

Listen to Learn

This initiative supports professionals in learning from families in the Upper Yarra. Through the experiences of young children aged 0-6 years, the initiative uses powerful storytelling to explore:

  • parent and caregiver perspectives on what contributes to children’s social and emotional wellbeing

  • how and where families connect with their community

  • how families access support services

Positive social and emotional wellbeing helps children to form strong relationships, build resilience, and stay engaged in learning. However, local data and evidence shows that children in the Upper Yarra are experiencing challenges in this area.

You can read what families told us in the Listen to Learn Findings Report.

Creating Connections

In response to what families shared through 'Listen to Learn,' we have launched the ‘Creating Connections’ project. This project helps identify, support, and fund community projects to strengthen social connection for children aged 0 – 6 years and their families in the Upper Yarra.

We will support the Upper Yarra community to:

  • come up with project ideas

  • choose which projects get funded

  • design the final plans alongside families of young children.

We want to make sure families have a strong voice in what happens and that the community leads the way in creating positive change.
