Project overview

This construction project will rehabilitate and strengthen the pavement along Cambridge Road, Mooroolbark/Montrose between Durham Road and Swansea Road.

Project stages

The project will be delivered in 2 stages:

Stage 1

Durham Road to Montrose Road - Asphalt patching works to address various pavement failures.

These works have been completed in September 2026.

Stage 2

Montrose Road to Swansea Road. This stage involves more significant pavement rehabilitation due to several large pavement failures.

Works are currently being tendered, with construction currently targeted in the summer months between December 2026 and February 2027 (previously anticipated November 2026).

During construction, this section of Cambridge Road will be closed to through traffic and will only be accessible by local residents, business and visitors who require access to properties in the vicinity of the works.

Once these repair works are complete, as asphalt overlay will be applied to the full length from Durham Road to Swansea Road.
