Botanica Reserve is a newly established park located within the Cloverlea Estate, occupying the former site of the Chirnside Park Country Club golf course.

Key Features and Amenities

  • Design Element: The playground is unofficially known locally as "Pencil Park" due to the brightly-painted, multi-coloured pencil-shaped fence posts that surround the play space.

  • Playspace: The fenced play area offers varied equipment:

    • Climbing/Active: A large rope dome, several swings, and a long curved yellow slide accessible via a steep climb.

    • Balancing/Passive: A wooden and stone stepping path, a series of totem poles (forming a mini-maze), a large log bench, and a small wooden bridge.

  • Safety/Access: The playground is completely fenced with two entrances. A blue painted concrete path runs through the play area, providing a designated, safe surface for scooters.

  • Picnic and BBQ: Facilities include a sheltered picnic table with benches and a public barbecue unit.

  • Sports: A basketball hoop is available.

  • Reserve Area: The majority of the reserve is an open grassy area with scattered trees.

  • Wetland Area: The lowest point contains a wetland area characterized by large expanses of reeds.
