Cancel a waste service

Before you start

You must be the property owner, managing agent or an appointed executor of estate or power of attorney to request to cancel a waste service.

Bins must be empty and placed at your usual collection point so we can remove them. If the bin(s) you want to cancel is not empty, we may be unable to remove the bin from the premise. We will usually collect the bin within 5 business days.

You make a request to cancel a waste service if:
  • the property has been demolished or destroyed
  • a planning permit requires a private waste or non-Council waste collection
  • it is for vacant land
  • the property is rated as non-residential land use
  • Council has granted an exemption from all waste services.

You can also use this form to:

  • Cancel an order for 1 or more additional bin(s) at any time.

Note: Do not use this form to cancel 1 of the 3 required bins within your waste service. We will decline these requests.

You'll need to provide your personal details and property address to make a request to cancel your waste service.

If you are an executor of estate or power of attorney, you need to submit documentation to Council before we can process the request. To submit this documentation please complete our Customer Update Form.

Depending on the reason for cancelling your waste service, you'll need to provide a copy of:

  • an approved demolition consent
  • an approved planning permit
  • an approved exemption from Council.
