How prepared are you for climate change in the Yarra Ranges?

Yarra Ranges Council is pleased to offer community members an opportunity to participate in an interactive board game based workshop ‘The Adaptation Game’.

About

The Adaptation Game is a board game designed to help individuals and communities better understand extreme weather events – such as heatwaves, floods, and fires – and identify practical actions to build personal and community resilience to weather-related challenges.

The Adaptation Game is based on scientific evidence about how climate change will affect the Yarra Ranges, exploring practical ways to adapt and contribute to community resilience, as well as understand the projects and programs already being implemented by Council.

The Adaptation Game is a cooperative game where all the players work together. You will play with three other people whilst a facilitator guides you through the game.

Who should play?

This game is suited to people aged 16+ who are interested in learning more about climate risks in the Yarra Ranges and what actions you can take to be more resilient.

Why TAG for Schools?

Climate change can feel overwhelming, especially for young people experiencing climate anxiety. Over four modules, students first hear stories of resilience to build a hopeful and empowered mindset before exploring local solutions and opportunities to act with increased agency.
