Be a Host and Join the Celebration!

We are thrilled to announce that The Yarra Ranges Over 50s Festival is back this October! For the entire month of October, our community comes alive in a vibrant celebration of connection, joy and vitality.

This year’s theme, Connect, Create, Celebrate, is a fantastic opportunity for hosts to connect with community, inspire creativity, build practical skills and foster lasting friendships whilst helping to reduce isolation. You may even gain some new members to your group, club or organisation!

We warmly invite community groups, clubs and organisations to host a variety of free or low-cost events that may resonate with interests and passions of our Over 50s community. We believe your creativity and expertise can add a touch of magic to this incredible celebration.

What type of event can you host?

Here are just a few suggestions:

  • Music and Dance Events
  • Art and craft workshops
  • Historical tours and walks
  • Fitness and wellness sessions
  • Gardening workshops
  • Tech help and digital literacy classes
  • Club open days

Our Healthy & Active Ageing Team is here to provide support whether your group has previously participated or is new to hosting an event during the festival.  Please contact us for advice, a brainstorming chat or help with the online application.

Want to host a Over 50s Festival 2025 event during October? 

Submitting your event listing is easy-peasy. Simply fill out the Over 50s Festival Event Application Form , by 29 June 2025. We will review and confirm the details with you before your event(s) are listed in the Yarra Ranges Council festival booklet and on the website event listing.
