Burning off permit

Before you start

You must be the owner or have the owner's written consent to apply for a Burning off permit.

The Safer Communities team will contact you within 10 days of your submission. We will notify you if we require an onsite inspection.

The Burning off permit application fee is non-refundable.

Fees are inclusive of GST.

You need to provide evidence of the owner's written consent as part of the application process. 

Your application should also provide information about:

  • the types of items being burned
  • the property size and location
  • the proposed start and finish date of the burning off.

If you want to claim a concession, you'll need to provide evidence.
