Do you want to make a real difference - just by having a friendly chat?
We’re looking for volunteers to talk online with refugees and migrants who have low mobility or can’t easily get out into the community. You’ll help them practice English and feel more connected, all from your own home at a time that works for you and your lifestyle. Previous teaching experience is not required, your role is to support participants to speak and listen to English through conversation, not test them. Simply by being a friendly voice you will help participants feel more confident and connected!
Meet online, no travel needed. Just 30–60 minutes a week, at a time that suits you. Free training, conversation prompts, and ongoing support provided. Training can take place online or in-person at Kilsyth Community Hub. Help is available if you're new to online chatting or video calls. It’s a small time commitment that makes a big impact!
