Reimagining your Repair is being offered exclusively and free to residents, who were severely impacted by the June storm, and are in the process of repairing their homes that were damaged.
These events are held throughout the year are aimed at demystifying the building repair process, exploring what is possible, and sharing the support and services Council have ready to help you along the way.
The next Reimagining your Repair event will be held on Saturday 10 September 2022.

At this event, you will be able to:
- Reconnect with other residents in a supportive setting.
- Learn about the Building Permit Application process and repair journey ahead – (whilst Council doesn’t issue Building Permits, we want to share some important tips and information to help you along the way.)
- Hear from Dr Rob Gordon, who will share his insights about what to expect in your recovery at this stage, your home repair journey, and the next steps. Rob is a clinical psychologist with over 38 years’ experience in disaster recovery. You may have already watched some of Rob’s videos we have been sharing with communities after the storm.
- We’ll have other technical experts here for you including, a geotechnical engineer (landslip), health (septic) officer, biodiversity officer, and some of our Community and Planning Recovery team.
You will also have time to share, rest, ask questions and digest your stories along the way.

Who can I bring with me?
This free invitation is for 2 people. You can choose who you bring with you. We are limiting the numbers for this event to 30, to allow time and opportunity for you to meet, chat, explore, reflect and ask questions.
If the resident interest for this event exceeds the numbers we can have with us on the day, we will run another Reimagining your Repair event as soon as possible.
What if I am not ready or not able to make it?
If you aren’t ready or are unable to join us on September 10, we understand. Please let us know if you want us to get back in touch with you when new dates are available, and other community recovery or rebuilding support events are happening.

In March and April 2022, Yarra Ranges Council ran a Reimagining your Rebuild event, which were held to empower residents with the knowledge they needed to assist them with their rebuild journey after the 2021 storm.
These residents who were undertaking a full rebuild of their houses were invited to the private event and attendees were given the opportunity to speak with experts and residents in a supportive setting.
The aim was to demystify the Planning journey, and explore what is possible and the support available to help rebuild in a better way.
