Bush playgroup in Ferntree Gully

Parents of storm impacted children are invited to join a weekly bush playgroup to connect, learn and play in nature.

The program will be held in term four in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges at One Tree Hill Picnic Ground, Fern Tree Gully, where children can connect, learn, play and gather in nature.

The Bush Playgroup incorporates hands-on, child-led learning and sensory play through a range of nature-based activities, nature crafts, storytelling, songs and a bush walk exploring.

This bush playgroup is facilitated by Claire, an early childhood educator with Eco Explorers who has been running bush playgroups in the Dandenongs this year.

The program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through movement and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

The Bush Playgroup will be facilitated by Eco Explorers on behalf of Yarra Ranges Council working in partnership with Mums of the Hills and Anglicare.

Every Friday from 14 October - Friday 2 December between 10am -12pm. Eight sessions in total
