Yarra Ranges Council is supporting a free emotion focused parenting program for parents who have concerns around how they or their children are coping following the challenges of extreme weather, pandemic and whatever else life has thrown at them.

Parents are able to chat with other parents who are experiencing similar circumstances, and through the program discover new strategies to support anxious children.

The program will be coordinated by Yarra Ranges Council Community Recovery team, facilitated by Julia Russell from Anglicare Parentzone, and supported by Mums of the Hills.

Over six sessions facilitators will work with parents and carers to identify what topics they want to focus on and then work with the group to provide ideas and strategies for:

  •  Better understanding and talking with their children
  • Helping children manage their emotions and deal with conflict
  • Managing challenging behaviours
  • Parenting anxious children

When:

All six sessions must be attended and these are held every Thursday between 11 August and 15 September from 9.30am - 12pm.

Where:

All sessions will be held at Montrose Town Centre, 935 Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd, Montrose.

Places are limited and bookings are essential.
