Community Directory

Organisations completing an application for publication in the Community Directory must:

• Be a community group or non-for-profit organisation (including trader and township groups)
• Operate within the Yarra Ranges area  (support groups and government agencies covering the outer east region are exempt from this requirement).
• Provide an email address and contact phone number
• Check the directory listing regularly and ensure details are up to date.

Business Directory

• Operate within the Yarra Ranges area
• Provide an email address and contact phone number

Events

Our online event calendar is available to promote community-run, not-for-profit events, held within Yarra Ranges. Or in certain circumstances, for-profit events that benefit the Yarra Ranges region, may be considered for inclusion on the calendar, the events or activities must be open to and relevant to the broader community.

 In addition to events sponsored, hosted or organised by Yarra Ranges Council, we may choose to include events that:

• Demonstrate and encourage support for local community organisations
• Provide training or support for residents, local business and volunteers when hosted or organised by other local government or not for profit organisations.
• Promote Yarra Ranges as a tourist destination
• Provide opportunities for residents to engage in cultural activities.
• Encourage visitors and locals to support, promote and engage with local businesses

We may publish the following events:

• Agricultural shows
• Community run events
• Single workshops/seminars hosted by not for profit or government organisations i.e.  Landcare, CFA, Parks Vic, Eastern Regional Libraries, Business Victoria.
• Festivals, fairs and markets
• Fun runs and sporting events
• Exhibitions
• Major regional tourism events, such as Grape Grazing, Day on the Green, Longest Lunch, Shed Fest etc.
• Seasonal specific events
• We may also include sponsored events at our discretion

Events we won't include

We won’t publish the following:

• Ongoing activities (including term based dance/gym/sport/music lessons, club meetings, regular sporting fixtures and church services)
• Annual General Meetings
• Events that seek to promote a particular product, service or business including private dance, exercise/personal training or music classes.

General Terms and Conditions

1. By submitting a community directory listing or event on the Yarra Ranges website you acknowledge that you have all the relevant permits, licenses and/or other relevant approvals (i.e registering a festival/event) required to operate or hold the event. 2. All listings are subject to editorial discretion. Yarra Ranges Council reserves the right to refuse, remove or edit any listing. Events or listings relating to or held by a group which conflicts with Council's vision and values will not be listed.
3. The person submitting the listing must ensure the information supplied is accurate and that information is kept up to date using the My City dashboard.
4. Events, and their included copy and images, added to the calendar may be used by Council in additional promotion including via social and printed media.
5. This event calendar and community directory is provided in good faith without any warranties or guarantees that the service will be error free and without disruption.
