Plants for properties
The Ribbons of green program offers free native plants for properties and schools.
We aim to plant 60,000 native plants each year to revegetate and provide habitat for native birds and animals.
To be successful, properties must have:
- available space for a minimum of 300 plants,
- maintaining defendable space around your home and neighbouring properties as per CFA guidelines,
- have time to spend planting and preparing the site
- wanting to establish bush style habitat not landscaping around buildings.
Applications are taken between July and November each year and plants are distributed the following May to July.
Advice is also available on how to prepare the site, weeds control and plant species selection. All site preparation and planting is done by the landholder or school.
