Discover the natural environment of the Dandenongs and the Yarra Valley with the TrailRider all-terrain wheelchair

The TrailRider is an all-terrain wheelchair which allows visitors and community members with mobility impairments to explore the beautiful Dandenongs and Yarra Valley.

With the help of two operators, the chair allows users to access a range of picturesque walking trails not otherwise accessible with conventional wheelchairs. These wheelchairs have adjustable seating and supports, making them suitable for adults and children with varying abilities. The chair is motorised, making it easier for users to explore some steeper and longer trails. It also easily disassembles and fits into the back of a station wagon or large vehicle.

The chairs are free to hire, but please book in advance to avoid disappointment. Chair users are required to bring a bike helmet and undertake a chair induction prior to use.  They are available at the following locations:

Dandenong Ranges TrailRider all-terrain wheelchair:

To explore the Dandenong Ranges National Park, visitors and local residents can borrow a TrailRider for free at Grants Picnic Area in Kallista.

Warburton Valley TrailRider all-terrain wheelchair:
