Monbulk Historical Society Display & The Brass Harpies

"Join the Brass Harpies 10am until 1pm on Saturday 18th June at The Patch Store, to celebrate the beginning of a Monbulk Historical Society display in store.

BYO phone for photos with this trio of artful and sophisticated travellers from the Steampunk Imaginarium. These three intrepid ladies (2 of whom are Patch locals) look truly amazing as they whimsically roam at festivals and events (or even amid unsuspecting customers at the local general store) in curiously curated costumes, entertaining passers-by on all things Steampunk whilst engaging them in splendid conversation, much laughter and wondrous photo imagery! Watch out - they will put a top hat on anything!

The Patch Store is open 8am til 3pm daily with delicious food, great coffee and a welcoming atmosphere! The Monbulk Historical Society will place 35 images in The Patch Store window showing historic images of The Patch dated from the 1890s through to the 1980s. This will feature photos of The Patch Store, early settlers, panoramic views and the Monbulk Jam Factory which was located in The Patch.

The display will be installed on Saturday June 18 and will remain on display in the windows for two weeks so a wider audience will be able to view them.

Monbulk Historical Society was established in 1982 and began the preservation of many documents and photographs donated to the society covering the townships of Monbulk, The Patch, Kallista, Sherbrooke and their surrounding areas and the families who pioneered these towns. Records of the history of these settlements date back to 1893. The collection also includes the publications of oral histories and newspaper articles of local families."
