YAE Project - Youth Art Exhibtion

Wed to Sun 11am - 3pm

The YAE Project
is an initiative of a (then) 15-year-old of the Yarra Valley, Inica Smit, who had the idea to create a Youth Art Exhibition, including a competition for primary and secondary school students within our community. The YAE Project encouraged youth to take up a challenge and the chance to produce an artwork for exhibition at YAVA Gallery.

“The aim of the YAE project is to provide an opportunity for youth to build confidence in displaying their artwork and getting involved with local community. Often younger people feel that gallery spaces are only for “professional” artists – we want the emerging young artists to experience a different side of art, something they can relate to, something they can be a part of. ” - Inica Smit
