The Spirit of the Dandenongs

The Royal Australian Navy Band Melbourne, Wind Band is excited to be performing at The Memo, Healesville in a concert featuring Australian compositions, one of which is “Spirit of the Dandenongs”, a three-part suite composed by Leading Seaman Musician Cam McAllister.

Leading Seaman McAllister has been a member of the RAN Band for over ten years and is one of Melbourne’s up and coming contemporary composers.  

The RAN Melbourne Wind Band is one of the premier ensembles of the unit, based at HMAS Cerberus, Victoria. The band performs regularly for audiences at a variety of venues throughout Melbourne and Victoria, under the direction of Lieutenant Commander Andrew Stokes, RAN, and Lieutenant Daniel McIlvride, RAN.  

The ensemble showcases both traditional and contemporary wind band repertoires including marches, traditional military band works and orchestral arrangements.
