Part of the 2024 Ceramics Winter Series, these Winter School Holidays The Memo Healesville’s hosting kids’ ceramics workshops.

Create a Pinch pot Planter, Native Animal or Koala under the guidance of a Yarra Valley Potter artist, using earthenware clay.

Places are limited, so book now.

What you need to know: 

- All workshops are 90min. 
- Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. 
- All materials included.
- You will take home your piece in its raw state which will dry to have the strength and consistency of chalk. Being made of earthenware clay, it will also be suitable to take to a firing service if you would like to make it stronger.

Pinch Pot Planter

Sat 29 June | 10.30am – 12pm  

6 – 12y | Designed for children and adults to do together | Adult + child = 1 ticket

Learn how to make your very own pinch pot planter! 

This is a perfect introduction to the joys of creating with clay. Get a feel for it as you pinch and shape it into your own unique pinch pot planter to take home.  

This class will be facilitated by Valley Potter, Juliet Widdows

Native Animals

Sun 7 July | 10.30am – 12pm | Held during Yarra Valley Potters Ceramic Market 

6 – 12y | Designed for children and adults to do together | Adult + child = 1 ticket 

Create your own native animal to take home! Will you choose an echidna or maybe a kangaroo? Be guided by an experienced potter on how to shape your creation and bring it to life. 

This class will be facilitated by Valley Potter, Laura Windmill

Koala

Sat 13 July | 10.30 – 12pm 

9+y, children can attend this workshop without a guardian. 

Come along and experience a pottery lesson where you can make your very own Clay Koala. All materials and tools will be supplied and the workshop will be run by qualified teacher and artist, Linda Moore. You will take home your Koala in its raw state which will dry to have the strength and consistency of chalk. Being made of earthernware clay, it will also be suitable to take to a firing service if you would like to make it stronger. The hour and a half workshop will include a demonstration of the project and then plenty of support to help you create your very own. 

This class will be facilitated by Valley Potter, Linda Moore.
