Yarra Ranges Council has funding to run Chainsaw Training to help Community Groups to be more resilient in emergency events such as storms and bushfires.
This 2 day course is run by Arbtrack Australia, and participants will gain a nationally recognised accreditation. It is open to any residents that are members of a group that work to support their neighbours and community in times of need.
Units covered include:
AHCMOM213 Operate and maintain chainsaws
FWPCOT2273 Trim and cut felled trees + FWPCOT2254 Maintain Chainsaws
FWPCOT3301 Trim trees using a polesaw
This is a classroom style learning where the trainer will teach the essentials of chainsaw safety, maintenance and operation. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chainsaws along if they have them. A variety of chainsaws will be available to use if you don’t have your own.
A full day of practical on-site learning where the trainer will supervise the use of chainsaws to develop skills and technique in a safe environment.
