Gardens for Wildlife
Want to create a garden that attracts and supports local wildlife?
Your garden can provide local species with 'stepping stones' between nearby larger areas of habitat like parks and reserves. You and your family can also enjoy the birds, butterflies, frogs, lizards and many other local species that may visit.
The Yarra Ranges Gardens for Wildlife (YRG4W) program assists residents to develop a garden (or an area within their garden) to support local wildlife. It is free to join and open to Yarra Ranges residents. The program is run by council and a team of local volunteers who share their expertise and enthusiasm for wildlife gardening.
YRG4W participants receive an information pack, advice and support to help them create a wildlife garden. They also receive regular updates, information on upcoming events, and can join our special YRG4W Participant Facebook group to ask questions and share stories and information with other participants.
The Gardens for Wildlife Program isn't taking new participants at the moment. Please check back later.
