Construction has begun on a new water play park and playground in Warburton for the Warburton Community Recreation Precinct.
Warrandale Industries Pty Ltd have been awarded the Contract and construction will be completed in April/May 2020, weather permitting.
The project will result in Warburton’s dilapidated pool being turned into a water play park, playspace and recreation area for people of all ages. There will be Picnic facilities as well as the lawn area which can be used as a space to spread a rug or kick a ball as well as a space for events.
The project is really taking shape, all the major water play elements have been constructed and we are now carrying out the final touches that will make this exciting water park and play space stand out from the rest. The star of the show will undoubtedly be the drenching bucket which has already been tested and looks amazing.
The Federal Government has provided $1.7m funding for the project through the Regional Growth Fund, while Council has committed $2.8 million to complete stage one.
The Warburton Advancement League is providing $20,000 for a train engine with junior slide, and the Warburton Sports Centre Committee will provide $120,000 to fund the remaining playspace items.
