Exercise & COVID-19
While the latest social distancing measures have been introduced to help slow the spread of Coronavirus, it’s important to exercise regularly for your physical and mental wellbeing.
We've temporarily deactivated our Parks and Recreation pages during the COVID-19 situation.
All of our parks and trails, like Lillydale Lake, Birdland Reserve, Belgrave Lake Park, the Lilydale-to-Warburton Rail Trail and the Yarra Valley Trail remain open, however we strongly recommend community members visit local parks if exercising, to reduce travel and any risks for possible spread of COVID-19.
All playgrounds, outdoor gym equipment and skateparks in Yarra Ranges are closed and should not be used.
What you can do
You can still exercise outdoors. We recommend that you do this locally.
Activities like walking, running, bike riding are still allowed provided you:
What you can't do
In line with the latest restrictions the following will be closed:
- Outside gyms in public places
- Our water play parks in Lilydale and Seville (in line with advice regarding aquatic and recreation facilities)
- Outdoor bootcamps and personal training sessions are limited to two people, including the trainer.
Please note: anyone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 should not leave their home until directed to do so by the government.
