The COVID stage 4 lockdown has ended, however, some modified restrictions remain in place, including limits on social gatherings and wearing masks indoors at all times.
Coldstream Brewery have been donating gourmet meals to locals experiencing homelessness and other COVID-19 related challenges.
With their business closed because of COVID-19 restrictions, the owners at Coldstream Brewery wanted to make use of their kitchen and skilled staff to give back to the community. “It’s hard on us and it’s hard on our staff, but there are always a lot of people in our community doing it a lot tougher,” says Mike from Coldstream Brewery.
Other local businesses, including Yarra Flats Bakery, Gateway Estate, Little Creek Company and Greenlands Fruit and Veg, helped with food donations. Led by their Chef, Lloyd, the Coldstream Brewery kitchen has cooked and donated well over 1500 delicious and nutritious meals during the pandemic. Chirnside Park charity, Holy Fools, has been collecting the meals and making sure they reach the people who need them most, particularly people sleeping rough and families experiencing financial hardship.
“Everyone loves the meals as they are of a high quality and extremely tasty!” says Neal from Holy Fools.
