The COVID stage 4 lockdown has ended, however, some modified restrictions remain in place, including limits on social gatherings and wearing masks in some indoor settings, or wherever you can't socially distance.
Community gardeners in Healesville are growing produce to donate to locals.
Connecting and nourishing people is what the members of Healesville Community Garden love to do. For years, generous gardeners have been donating surplus produce from their plots to HICCI, the local emergency relief service. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the garden committee became conscious of increased community need and worries about accessing food. They decided to allocate three garden beds to grow food specifically for people in need.
Produce from the Planting the Seeds project is donated to HICCI and other local community groups. The gardeners also preserve produce and grind herbs for donation.
