The COVID stage 4 lockdown has ended, however, some modified restrictions remain in place, including limits on social gatherings and wearing masks indoors at all times.
Covid-19 has been tough on hospitality businesses but that hasn’t stopped staff at Healesviet Restaurant thinking of others in the community. When they heard that toilet paper and tissues were no longer available at local supermarkets they wanted to help.
“I feel really sad when I see some older people cannot get what they need," says Sam Trinh, from the restaurant, "We came up with the idea to give back to the community.”
Anh from the restaurant put a call out on the Healesville Covid-19 Community Support Group Facebook page, offering free toilet paper and tissues to local senior citizens. Over the next few days grateful locals dropped by to collect all the packaged goods that Anh, Sam and the team had prepared.
