Mental Health Week aims to encourage the behavior of seeking help, to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and to foster connectivity throughout communities.

To get help, your local doctor can be a useful first step. Your Doctor will be able to provide some guidance and advice and may complete a mental health plan to enable you to see a specialist like a psychologist at a reduced rate.

No Wrong Door is a Youth Service Directory including information and contact details for services across Yarra Ranges, Knox and Maroondah.
Youth Beyond Blue has useful information. It also includes resources, fact sheets and professionals who can help.
Headspace and eheadspace offer online and telephone counselling for young people aged 12-25 years. You can also call 1800 650 890 to speak with someone.
Kids Helpline provide online support for children 5-12 years, young people and families. Call Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800.
Beyond Blue offers a range of resources for dealing with anxiety and depression, from a screening questionnaire to facts sheets and professionals you can talk with.
Telephone counselling services are available 24/7 for people who are affected by suicide, this is available through the Suicide Call Back Service.
Lifeline is a national service providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.
