Volunteer with Yarra Ranges Council
Family and Children’s Services are keen to hear from residents who are interested in becoming a volunteer storyteller or playgroup helper.
Reading to children has enormous benefits on their ability to succeed at school and learning. Reading from a very young age can have a positive effect on a child’s emotional, social and language development.
Volunteers are assessed for suitability, trained and supported to read to groups of parents and their young children (aged 0-5yrs) at a range of community venues .
