Badger Creek Community Group Badger Creek Community Plan Launch and Picnic We are planning a community picnic to launch our updated Community Plan. The Plan is the outcome of a community consultation process, for which we received a Small Grant last financial year. We have taken the feedback we received and will use some of the Grant money to refresh and update the design of the report, which will be available to the community online and in hard copy formats. To launch the revised plan, we plan to hold a community picnic in approximately March / April 2024 to thank the community for their participation and to thank the Council for their support. $1,000.00

Celebrate Mooroolbark Inc Celebrate Mooroolbark Festival 2024 Celebrate Mooroolbark is a family friendly community festival for all ages. Festival date is Sunday 17th March 2024, between 10am - 4pm. We will engage many local volunteers to help us run the festival on the day and host many different activities for all ages. We have paired with local businesses, services and community groups to promote Mooroolbark and all it offers. In-Kind Waste Management
Dandenong Ranges RSL Sub Branch Inc. Community Music Afternoon Following last year's success, we hope to conduct another Community Music Afternoon event on Sunday 24th March. We are seeking council’s support and partnership to assist in covering the cost of the band and some of the administrative overheads and set up costs that are necessary to facilitate this community event. $900.00
Dani-Ela Kayler Purple Pea Plants Hope Installation A pilot community engagement project to test an idea for a larger vision, activating public spaces with hope, humor, mental health support, and a pay-it-forward culture. In preliminary partnership with Belgrave Library, The Bookbarn, Where The Wild Things Grow and Into The Woods. Name place-sized cards are placed on shelves, in between books, merchandise etc featuring an encouraging message written from the perspective of a Purple Pea. Combining a mini-story and a request with a play on words ("Peas (Please) try again") – approx. 30 different messages intended to offer hope, encouragement, reframe negative thinking, spark curiosity and imagination. $1,000.00
Hills Creative Alliance Moving Forward The project is to enable us to run our successful 'Community Focus Friday' sessions. Funding will greatly assist us as we move into the next phase of recovery and work to engage others in our local communities. We are working to increase community engagement in the Sassafras area, working with local businesses, schools and organisations bringing people together to support and develop our communities.

Montrose Community Cupboard Montrose Community Cupboard - Monthly Community Meal Program We (Montrose Community Cupboard) would like to host a monthly community meal, with support from local businesses and community groups, beginning at the end of March 2024. Montrose Community Cupboard has more than 50 volunteers who collect food, that would otherwise go to landfill, from supermarkets and bakeries in the local area (approx. 30 separate pickups weekly). Using these food donations, we would prepare and serve a nutritious two course meal to our local community one Sunday evening per month; supporting those in need, while strengthening community connections and helping the environment through our food rescue program. $1,000.00
Sassafras Ferny Creek Netball Club Pilot womens exercise program for parents during their child's sport We have connected with Sharnae Newey from HerBod to put together a proposal for a series of pilot exercise programs for mothers to participate in during their child's netball training. $1,000.00
The Dotted Line International Women's Day at The Fat Goat The Dotted Line [3MDR Live Music Radio Show] have an ongoing partnership with The Fat Goat to stage an event on International Women's Day [IWD]. We are very proud of this partnership and are hoping to continue it in 2024. This year we are planning to engage four local female, or female identifying, DJs to play live DJ sets on IWD - Friday March 8th - at The Fat Goat. The money from this grant will pay the DJs for their sets and for some poster printing costs. This event will be free for the community to attend.

Warburton Advancement League Inc Homelessness Dignity Project We have two amazing volunteer organisations, ADRA Redwood Centre in Warburton, and the SDA in Lilydale that have set up, and in Lilydale's case, are setting up drop-in centres for people and families who are experiencing homelessness. The Advancement League would like to assist this ‘Dignity’ program in both centres by providing them with commercial-grade washers and dryers that can cope with laundering bedding as well as clothing. $500.00
Yarra Valley Machinery Preservation Society Inc Wandin Draught Horse & Yesteryear Festival Wandin Draught Horse and Machinery Festival is held at Mont De Lancey Museum and Homestead. This is a weekend event to exhibit to the local community the abilities of draught horse and the various machines and engines that have been part of the recent history of the area. The event is run primarily by the Mont De Lancey Museum and Yarra Valley Machinery Preservation Society. $390.00

Community Gardens Australia 2024 VIC Community Gardens Gathering Partnering with ECOSS we will deliver a full day of speakers, workshops and a shared community lunch with participants. Ms Jacqui Rutten Variety Charity Concert This project is a charity concert involving local and guest musicians, about 20-30 artists, including musicians, a singer, and a brass band. All door money will go to the DRERS Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Service if funding is forthcoming. The application is to cover the costs of hall hire and flyers and a small donation to musicians. $1,000.00

Ms Sunderai Felich The Spoken Word : Stories brought to life We will be tapping into the interest expressed by community in telling their stories in a supportive and safe environment. Initially delivering one event per 3 months (4 per year) community members will tell short stories about a nominated theme. Starting with 6 participants per session, these sessions will be entertaining, heartwarming, and encourage others to participate in the future. $1,000.00
The Association of Eastern Historical Societies Inc partnering with Mt Evelyn History Group Inc Value of Local History into the Future The 2024 Conference is examining the role of historical societies and Local History into the Future, to provide inspiration and tools for volunteer local historians to plan and work for their communities. $1,000.00
UP ARTISANS INC Local Icons - Award Exhibition Opening Night LOCAL ICONS is a themed exhibition and artist callout to only local resident artists of the hills region Dandenong Ranges to submit artworks in 2d format of drawing, photography, printmaking, painting or digital and mixed media. The exhibition aims to inspire local artists to record artworks of the local area, capturing their favourite or iconic place and then enter their artwork for the exhibition and award opportunity to win $1000 first prize and second and third tier prizes, judged by a local art judge. We have secured private business sponsorship for all three prizes.

Warburton Health Spaces Inc Wellspring Open Day The Open Day is an annual event that welcomes the public to The Wellspring. We are a Community Wellbeing Collective and cater for a diverse range of Wellness Practices and services. To celebrate and promote the Centre we are holding our Open Day on April 27th 2024. ‍Once our youth members have had the opportunity to apply for a stall, applications will be open to the public, with a focus on offering this opportunity to as many children in our community as we can. We plan to provide activities on the day such as our Rope Bridge and art stations to enrich the experience of the market attendees, as well as the opportunity for our youth members to busk.

Mr Cameron Semmens A Poetic Life and Whiteout Poetry - 2 workshops to run in conjunction with the exhibition 'Am I in heaven, or is my flash too bright?' Between May 10 and June 30, 2024 my project 'Am I in heaven, or is my flash too bright? – playful portraits about presence and absence’ will be exhibited at The Memo in Healesville. It was selected by the Yarra Ranges Council Regional Exhibitions Program, and includes fine art photographs integrated with poetry. Alongside this exhibition I would like to facilitate two creative workshops at The Memo for the community that will complement the themes of the exhibition and feed into a healthier, more engaged community.

Mooroolbark Urban Harvest Mooroolbark Urban Harvest The Mooroolbark Urban Harvest swap gets together on the 2nd Saturday morning of each month. We are a mix of people from various areas in the Yarra Ranges shire who are into growing our own fruit and vegetables and plants. We like to follow the Permaculture ethics of earth care, people care and fair share. We bring along our home grown produce, our surplus seedlings and plants, cook books, gardening magazines, glass jars, worm liquid and other garden and food related things to share with othets. Narre Warren East Hall Committee Install Hot Water Dispenser in Hall Kitchen & Purchase Community Xmas Decorations The rural environment surrounding NWE Hall makes the hall an attractive venue for hire. Even more so now since the recent refurbishment by the Shire. While we think the kitchen area is magnificent, it currently lacks the ability to provide instant hot water for tea / coffee etc. This project is seeking funds to purchase a wall mounted hot water dispenser which will be installed in the kitchen.

Seville Township Group Inc Community Breakfast The Anzac Day Dawn Service held annually at the Seville War Memorial attracts an increasingly wide variety of individuals and community groups. In fact, it is the one day in the calendar where all of Seville's community groups and residents come together. As a result, we would like to host a free community breakfast for all those attending after the ceremony, a moment where everyone can get together and mix as a community over a warm cuppa and bbq breakfast. $1,000.00
Sherbrooke Forest Community Heritage festival indigenous event To celebrate a part of the festival in May, incorporating and indigenous educational afternoon. Yarra Glen Girl Guides Yarra Glen Guides 'Open Day' Yarra Glen Guides will hold an 'Open Day' at the Guide Hall and Grounds on 5th May. The purpose of this is to invite all families from Yarra Glen and surrounding areas to engage in activities that relate to Guiding. We are promoting Guiding and supporting the development of young girls in the community.
We will be showcasing camping skills, knotting, flag raising, craft and more, everything for all ages. We will be inviting a member from HEWI who will show how we must look after our Yarra river and waterways and care for environmentally sustainable issues, and wildlife.
