'"Food for Life" is a life skills program aimed at developing the connection between healthy food, improved nutrition, and mental and physical well-being. It delivers practical, independent living skills and training for improved health, safety and increased self confidence for all participants and volunteers. The opportunity for social connection and gain support whilst volunteering and training is a real asset of the program.

Re-invigorate the Mt Evelyn Toy Library
The Yarra Ranges Community Toy Libraries Project is focussed on expanding and strengthening the Mt Evelyn Toy Library to deliver an accessible, educational and equitable community resource for all Yarra Ranges children, families and communities. The project seeks to reinvigorate the Mt Evelyn site. We are seeking funding to run one-off re-engagement activities for our members and community as well as new resources to address the significant deterioration of our toy collection that has been caused by the effects of COVID.

This project will see a reprint of our soft-cover "Walking for Pleasure" booklet with information assisting visitors to appreciate the natural and cultural heritage of Kurth Kiln Regional Park in the southern part of the Shire of Yarra Ranges. The size of the booklet will be A5, which is convenient to use and can be easily carried in a pack.

The project aims to support playgroups, parent education, and social events for multiple birth families, to contribute to better outcomes for these vulnerable families who often struggle to access relevant programs in mainstream services, especially post covid-19. The proposed funding will contribute to increasing membership rates within the area, contribute to purchasing toys and a storage shed.

Mooroolbark dreams of a long-term “community connector”. This project will see a role developed to support the launch phase of our community connector project. Resilient Mums, Resilient Community’ is a community resilience building project aimed at supporting mothers living in the Yarra Ranges. The project provides a community led approach to improving the social and environmental resilience of local mothers. It combines expert led webinars and skills-based training as well as a series of social events to build knowledge, skills, social connection and place-based networks. The project focuses on the postnatal, post disaster, or pandemic response and wellbeing of mums. This project’s ultimate aim is to empower local mums to adapt to our ever changing conditions.

Our Screaming to the Wind project aims to understand and assist older citizens in Healesville and the surrounding areas (e.g. Yarra Glen, Seville, Chirnside Park) who have been affected by the recent lockdowns. The program provides a unique strengths-based pathway to address pandemic impacts, practical and relevant experiences, and capacity building to support members in their recovery. The program’s ultimate aim is to provide our community with an increased capability to sustain a stable lifestyle.

The project will provide mentoring to local LGBTIQA+ young people with a focus on intersectional identities, Participants will lead a community engagement process that will seek to provide a pilot 'peer support focused' social group for LGBTIA+ young people from the Yarra Ranges. Participants will receive the Mental Health First Aid training along with mentoring from a born and bred local LGBTIA+ community member with over ten years experience in youth work, youth mentoring, community development, and disability mentoring.

Dancing in the Dark is a weekly opportunity for people to dance freely in a friendly, non threatening, drug and alcohol free atmosphere promoting a healthy mind and a healthy body. It is a place to exercise at your own pace while having fun, open to all ages, genders, backgrounds, and demographics. The music is as varied as the people who dance, it goes from the 1920s right up to today.

Mums Afternoon Drop-In' is a free project which aims to connect new mums who are experiencing challenges during their early parenting journey. Session facilitators will be trained in Maternal Mental Health training and provide tools and techniques to the group to effectively support, engage and communicate with the group.
Eastern Domestic Violence Service Inc. (EDVOS)
Level Playgroup is aimed at supporting existing and future playgroups to apply a gendered lens to their programming. This project will bring families together to build connections and learn new ways to interact with their baby, toddler, or pre-schooler that support respectful relationships, healthy childhood development and gender equality. Sessions will involve a mixture of story reading, active play, craft activities, and facilitated discussions with parents and carers, delivered by Level Playgroup facilitators in partnership with established playgroups. The project will include the development of a resource guide for playgroup facilitators which will include activities trialled during the playgroup sessions.

Care for Place/Leave No Trace: Regenerative Tourism & the Birrarung Yarra River
The UYRRCoM proposes to facilitate a one day Indigenous Deep Listening Workshop coupled with a 10 week Regenerative Tourism Course. The UYRRCoM will then host a final evaluation & revegetation event on our local riverbank. This skills learning and listening project will mobilise collaborative wisdom and innovative pathways to achieve community resilience and local economic recovery, while enhancing a cultural understanding that our natural assets and communities of interest can be considered equal stakeholders in any process of local regeneration.

Tribe Youth, in partnership with Youth Advocates of Community Change (YACC), will deliver a project for young people by young people. The young people will create a community dinner where they will be empowered to present topics relating to them and issues impacting youth within the Yarra Ranges, to prominent members of the community. Young people will engage schools, families, community groups, community members and peers, to work collaboratively in supporting young people to engage in education and community, creating hope for the future and create future pathways.

A careers expo designed to service a gap in career education and workplace readiness for young people aged 15-25. The expo will connect parents and young people with industry, career experts, and job services. Through panel presentations, interactive break-out rooms, and diverse marketplace stalls, attendees will be able to access the information they need in an accessible way.

Cire aims to re-introduce a second weekly Gumboots Playgroup session to met local demand and provide opportunities for families to connect and engage within an uncertain COVID environment. Facilitated by a qualified educator at Upper Yarra Family Centre, Gumboots focuses on learning and sharing through play. It is accessible and inclusive, drawing families from the Upper Yarra.

Crops for Community
'Crops for Community' provides opportunities for volunteers to build skills in food production, preparation and contribute to social enterprise activities. Produce is grown to sell at The Valley Market ECOSS or is donated to the Koha Cafe and Oonah Tuckerbag community programs. Crops for Community is an inclusive program that supports volunteers in growing, harvesting, processing, selling and donating produce to reduce food waste, and make the best use of our growing gardens and orchards.

The Free Food Program
This project aims to reduce Free Food Program waste and empower people with the knowledge and skills to be more self-sufficient. The intention is to experiment with produce through various dehydration techniques to best practice. The free food program will capture produce at end-of-life cycles to be repurposed through dehydration back to community food boxes. The project also includes raising awareness about the program and supports volunteers to deliver the program.
Hills Reconciliation Action Collective
The Hills Reconciliation Action Collective's (HRAC) project aims to build capacity in Cultural Awareness of First Nations peoples in leaders, influencers, and organisations in Monbulk, Kallista, Belgrave, Upwey, and Tecoma. The project will offer Cultural Awareness workshops that encourage active participation and meet the needs of the local community.
The Valley Market
The Valley Market Warburton
The Valley Market Warburton, set in the heart of Warburton, is a monthly market that supports local food producers, artisan makers, community groups, and artists by providing a platform to sell products/services from stalls. Local businesses provide healthy, affordable meals and a community stage features local musicians and community groups. Young people form part of the market team and are mentored to deliver the project.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Workshops for Yarra Ranges Students
The project is the weaving of a Bunjil's Nest with Wurundjeri Elder Aunty Kim Wandin, including a language ritual for participants to interact with the nest through Woi Wurrung language. Project Opening at the Ngulu Festival 2022. Ngulu and Bunjil's Nest is an extension of the growing Indigenous education program at ECOSS. The weaving of Bunjil's Nest will create an opportunity for interaction and contemplation next to the Creation Story Mural and Soundscape to create a full immersion into Country and enable visitors to learn and reflect in this Cultural space.

Zinezibar aims to build a culture of zine makers and storytellers in the Yarra Ranges. Zinezibar will facilitate 10 online zine-making workshops. The theme for Zinezibar 2022 is Glimmer Zine. The workshops will encourage participants to notice the little things in life that make them feel good. Participants will identify their personal glimmers and, using art, craft, photography, poetry or prose, share them in the mini zine format with public audiences.
Selby Community House
ArtSpace Selby is an initiative driven by Selby Community House for artists affected by COVID-19. The aim is to provide a platform for local artists (emerging and established) to present their work in a professional exhibition space. With an emphasis on promoting local artists, ArtSpace Selby encourages community connection and participation. Each exhibition will have an exhibition opening and artist talk. Artworks will be for sale, no hire fee or marketing/management fee charged and with all sales going directly to the artists.
'"Caretakers" is a collaborative storytelling project aimed at de-stigmatizing end-of-life experience through helping the dying tell their stories. “Caretakers” provides a unique, story-based model creating opportunities for those at end of life to creatively convey their experiences, both as an act of empowerment and as a legacy for their loved ones and community. The project’s ultimate aim is community empowerment and education, using “Caretakers” as a tool for death literacy by increasing the capacity of the community to reflect on this vital but urgently underserved area.

Continuing Covid recovery through performance
A series of "flash-mob/pop-up" performances at a variety of locations in outdoor community spaces designed to connect with the community and reactivate public spaces. The project will also enable the choir to continue to perform with purpose within the COVID-19 environment.
The Baba Desi Story
An exhibition to embark on a journey to illuminate the life of Desmond Bergin, known locally as 'Baba Desi.' Utilising the communities skills in Photography, Film, Painting, and other creative mediums, the immersive exhibition will be showcased at 2Floors Belgrave to explore Desmond's life. Coinciding with the Lantern Festival, it will serve to activate Blacksmith's Way as a public arts precinct, providing positive economic and social outcomes for creatives, traders, and the wider community.

A school holiday program that will see children explore emotions through art. Participants will create individual art projects that they take home, as well as contribute to pieces that will be displayed in exhibitions across the Yarra Ranges. These exhibitions will display emotional expression, children's self-worth, and mental health through art to help people build empathy, connection, and awareness to these issues.

Creative Ladies in the Hills and Valleys
This project builds on a women artists' 2021 documentary which began as a local response to COVID-19 and lockdowns. The sequel project is designed to empower women by giving them the opportunity to tell their stories, promote their art practices, and build local and online audiences. It also showcases the local area, and promotes positive wellbeing through connection, community, creativity, recreation and being amongst nature.
Textile Art Classes
A series of creative textile art classes designed to contribute to improving general health and wellbeing, particularly for community members heavily impacted by COVID-19 lockdowns. The project looks to provide a combination of quality art tools to be used in conjunction with recycled materials, found objects and everyday household items that can be used safely in the processes being offered.

The brigade aims to engage with the local arts community to create a mural to commemorate the brigades' centenary in 2023. The mural will capture the brigade’s volunteer-based contribution to local history, serve as a reminder to plan and prepare for emergencies, and provide an opportunity to celebrate the ever-changing local demographics and contributions of diverse members of the community.

From artistic hobby to sustainable career - documenting the story, building relationships and setting the 'value' for artists in the Yarra Ranges
A mentoring project to support local artists to build skills in documenting their story, self-marketing, building relationships with galleries. The project will include an introductory workshop, followed by three professional development workshops, ongoing one-on-one mentoring over 12 weeks and the opportunity to practice skills learned to exhibit artworks locally with further opportunities within Melbourne CBD. Online training and toolkits will also be developed to ensure course material is accessible.

Yarra Valley Open Studios 2022
Open Studios is an annual event that provides local artists the opportunity to connect with the community in their private studios and showcase their works. The event assists artists to develop new audiences, make sales, and to build their profile within the wider creative community. Hosted across 3 weekends in Spring, the event showcases artists in three distinct regions and culminates in an exhibition at YAVA. An additional ‘Showcase’ exhibition at the Waterwheel, Warburton will be on offer for ‘Upper Yarra’ artists.
Healing Harmonies aims to connect women from diverse backgrounds through the commonality of having experienced trauma through creative writing and song writing. A safe, secure, and supportive environment will be provided where participants can express their feelings and re-empower themselves. The culmination of these experiences will be through performance to their peers.
Jenny Game and Aurora Lumina - New and Improvised Music in the
A project that involves free community workshops in intercultural and contemporary free and collective improvisation and concerts featuring music described as a unique blend of contemporary jazz/classical/intercultural music. In addition, there were be workshops in the two weeks leading up to the Burrinja performance, culminating is a short voluntary performance before Aurora Lumina play.

This project provides a multi-disciplinary community arts excursion program for Yarra Ranges schools and Kindergartens. Delivered by 3 Yarra Ranges professional artists; topics will include ceramic, screen-printing, textile design, mixed-media, and eco-dying. A public group exhibition of work completed during the program will be on offer for the broader community.

A series of music sessions for both beginners and experienced musicians, alike in a range of musical genres. Heroes Vietnam Veterans Music and Reminiscence Project
A live multi-art form performance project involving script, live performance, original music and visual photographic display. Forgotten Heroes works with community oral reminiscences, music curation and visual footage from Australian Vietnam Veterans. The project aims to develop oral reminiscence transcriptions and music composed & curated during previous phases of this project into a live performance.

SelbyFest is a free music and arts festival that celebrates community spirit. SelbyFest focuses on our environment, culture, and an inclusive celebration of community. SelbyFest hosts live music performances, local business, and food stalls, art displays and workshops, environmental and CFA displays, Bush Food Garden tours, and a VCE Art exhibition. SelbyFest is always evolving and we seek ongoing community input to ensure that SelbyFest is "of the community for the community".

The Warburton Film Festival takes place over the weekend in June following the Queen's Birthday weekend. It features 9 film sessions spread over 3 days as well as a festival dinner and an opening night event. The program aims to showcase quality recent feature films from a variety of genres and countries of origin. 2022 will be its 39th year of operation. The dates for next year's festival from June 17-19.

The Australian South Asian Centre’s Diwali Festival will be a one-day celebration of a new beginning - one that is colourful, bright and community-oriented. Hosted in Belgrave, the event will feature cultural food and performances, stalls and workshops which aim to highlight the strength of cultural diversity.

Blacksmiths and Artisans Festival
The Blacksmiths and Artisans Festival is a free community event that features pre-modern arts, crafts, and lost trades. Old world artisan demonstrations, Viking re-enactments, gypsy performances, interactive displays, sculpture garden, painting exhibition, video theatrette, and cafe will all be on offer. The festival will be hosted on the grounds of Mont De Lancey Historic Museum.
Efemera is a multi-arts event for young and old in Healesville, surrounding areas and visitors to the region. The 9-day event, hosted in Coronation Park in Healesville, will celebrate nature play and seasonal change. Free nature-based art play, artist-led workshops, community music performances, dance, storytelling and food will all be on offer.

The 'aLIVE & brilliant' event will be a celebration of all things music. Hosted at 3MDR, and supported by volunteers, the day will include live performances by local musicians, a music swap meet, local traders, and 3MDR tours. The event aims to reconnect 3MDR with the community and support and celebrate, local creatives as we emerge from the devastation COVID-19 has wreaked upon our industry.

'Front to Back' is a 'micro' events concept for Blacksmiths Way, Belgrave. The project seeks to enliven new art, community, and trader-driven concept through live performances, workshops, food ‘pop-ups,’ chill zones, and visual art activations. Aimed at drawing shoppers, visitors, tourists and bands of locals into a 'refreshed' and 'revitalised' Blacksmiths Way precinct. Local artists, community groups, youth agencies, and traders will be invited to help reawaken and reshape the identity of this important new space within the township.

The River Folk Festival 2022
The River Folk Festival is a community-led 3-day music festival held in Warburton, celebrating the diverse creativity and culture of the area, showcasing high quality local, national, and international acts over multiple stages, while activating public spaces and bringing life, vibrancy, and colour to Warburton and the Yarra Ranges region.
'Backyarder Festival' is a feel-good blues-rock music festival that will showcase the amazing creativity, food, and produce the Yarra Valley has to offer. The festival aims to help the Yarra Valley community reconnect and recover after COVID, targeting locals along with fans of blues, rock, and roots music around Victoria. Local artists will be provided with an opportunity to perform alongside established headliners. Yarra Valley businesses will exhibit alongside art & craft market stalls.

The 3 day 'Hills Renewal Festival' is a community-led celebration to be hosted in Kalorama. The event will engage local artists, performers, and community members and is in response to storm impacts in 2021. There is recognition of community trauma and the need to heal. The event will conclude with a healing ceremony.

The 'Foothills Festival' is a weekend of local arts, music, and live performance across satellite venues in Upwey and surrounds, culminating in a large street festival on the Sunday. The event also provides fundraising opportunities for local community groups.
SenseFest' will explore synesthetic links between music, wine, location, and event. SenseFest brings Avan Yu (Sydney International Piano Competition Winner 2012) together with leading Australian classical musicians for 3 days of outstanding, accessible, chamber music. Invited local young musicians benefit from a unique educational Masterclass with an International Soloist. The event also provides an opportunity for volunteers to expand their skill sets.
