Apply for Grants for Community

Successful applications for the 2017 Grants for Community round have been announced! The full list of 2017 recipients can be viewed here (PDF, 246KB).

The Yarra Ranges Grants for Community program supports community-based projects that build the social and cultural life of the region. It is a platform for local groups, not-for-profit organisations and individuals to lead projects that identify and respond to community concerns and aspirations.

The program is also part of Council’s contribution to sustaining a connected and inclusive community.

Grant streams

Through the 2017 round applicants will share in $340,000 in funding across the following three streams: 


Community Development (DOCX, 80KB)

up to $10,000

The Community Development stream supports groups and organisations to deliver projects that contribute to social well being and community involvement.


Priority areas include:

  • Health and well being
  • Environment
  • Reconciliation
  • Gender Equality
  • Youth
  • Children and Families
  • Access and inclusion

Festivals and Events (DOCX, 73KB)

up to $10,000

($5,000 for first time applicants)

The Festivals and Events stream supports groups and organisations to deliver activities that enhance local culture, celebrate community spirit and contribute to the liveability of Yarra Ranges.

Arts and Heritage (DOCX, 73KB)

up to $10,000

The Arts and Heritage stream supports groups and individuals to deliver projects that develop, explore and express Yarra Ranges diverse cultural heritage, creative practice and foster opportunities for community to experience and participate.

Applications for the Grants for Community 2017 round have now closed. The next round of Grants for Community will open June 2017.

Grant information and training workshops
