Temporary outdoor dining on public land

To help local business reopen effectively while meeting the state government operating requirements, Council is providing alternative outdoor dining options.

Council has streamlined the temporary outdoor dining process, that is free of charge and can provide a quick turn-around for proposals on public land.

After a detailed review of current permits, most Temporary Outdoor Dining permits have been extended to the 31st December 2021. Those businesses that will not receive extension of their current permit or require changes to the current allocated space will be informed directly of the change. Yarra Ranges Council has waived fees on all street trading permits until the end of the year. This includes any new applications.

A review of the outdoor dining program and an introduction of fees for 2022 will take place in the fourth quarter this year.
