What is Maternal and Child Health services?

Maternal and child health nurses provide support for families from the birth of their child until they are school age.

There are maternal and child health services located around the Yarra Ranges.

A nurse will see you and your baby at 10 key ages and stages starting at 2 weeks old.

They can provide information on feeding your baby, immunisation, childhood illness, sleeping and settling, preventing injury and behavioural management.

They can also provide an important role in referring families for extra support or to other medical professionals.
