Friends
and family
Support from friends and family is important when you are pregnant, particularly if you are a teenager or young mother. At the same time, being pregnant and having children can sometimes affect your relationships with family and friends and may create tension in these relationships.
Seeking information
or counseling about the relationship changes you may be going through may help to either resolve the tension or find new options to stay connected with supportive people.
There are services available and groups especially for young women to help cope with the challenges that pregnancy and childbirth can create.
Support groups or playgroups are
also one way to meet other young pregnant women or mothers.
Sharing information with others about copying strategies and social activities can make life at this time more enjoyable for you and your child.
