Common Name: Blue Pincushion

Size: 10-40cm x 10-15cm
Description: Perennial herb.
Leaves: Rosette of hairy pale green spoon-shaped leaves 3-16cm x 3-15mm.
Flowering: Many erect unbranched flowering stems with a single pincushion-like flowerhead on each.
Flower Colour: Bright blue
Flowering Time: October to January
Growing Conditions: Dry to moist well drained soils in woodlands. Light frosts. Full sun, partial shade.
Garden Use: Very attractive mass planted in rockeries, in a drift or at the base of trees. Containers. Rosette similar to dandelions but hairy. Collect seed as they can be short lived.
