Size: 1-3m x 1-2m
Description: Open erect or arching shrub with strong bark.
Leaves: Pairs of soft, narrow, mid green leaves 10-75mm x 1-12mm, paler below.
Flowering: Clusters of 2-10 flowers in leaf axils. Flowers unisexual, densely hairy towards base, cluster surrounded by 2-4 hairy, papery brown or green bracts.
Flower Colour: Creamy-white
Flowering Time: September to November
Growing Conditions: Moist to wet well drained soils in moist to wet mountain forests and along watercourses. Frost and snow tolerant. Partial to full shade.
Garden Use: A graceful shrub for underplanting, generally not noticed until it flowers. Suits planting with ferns. Pruning from young plants will encourage bushier shape if desired.
