Common Name: Myrtle Wattle
Synonym:

Size: 1-3m x 1-2m
Description: Fast growing rounded to erect shrub with red, ribbed stems.
Leaves: Broad, thick shiny foliage often with thickened yellow edges, 5-20cm x 5-25mm.
Flowering: Clusters of ball-shaped flowerheads, massed along branches in leaf axils. Narrow, erect, curved pods with thickened margins, 4-9cm x 3-5mm.
Flower Colour: Cream to yellow
Flowering Time: July to October
Growing Conditions: Sandy or clay well drained soils in heaths and scrubs of open forests. Full sun to semi shade.
Garden Use: Provides fast colour in the garden while slower plants grow. About 5 years useful life span. Quick screen. Adaptable to most garden conditions. Pruning beneficial.
